I am an attorney licensed to practice in North Carolina with a passion for Family Law and Domestic Violence work. I meticulously strive to ensure that every client not only receives superior representation, but also feels comfortable and engaged in the process. The law can be confusing and intimidating, and it is my goal to make sure all my clients not only understand the process, but also understand all of their available options, whether it be mediation and possible settlement, or litigation.
I am originally from the beaches of Lewes, Delaware. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Delaware, where I double-majored in Criminal Justice and Sociology, and minored in Women’s Studies. While at UD, I was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity committed to volunteering throughout the community. During my senior year, I completed an externship with the Family Court in Wilmington, Delaware, which only fueled my growing interest in Family Law.
In 2012, I moved to Charlotte to pursue my legal education with an academic scholarship. During my studies, I interned in various settings that provided me with hands-on experience in Family Law. My first internship was with Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Domestic Violence Program during my 2L year, where I learned the process and procedures of assisting victims of domestic violence obtain Protective Orders and helped screen potential clients for free legal representation. I also participated in the Family Advocacy Clinic with the Neighborhood Advocacy Center, representing parents who were facing termination of their parental rights. Additionally, I interned with three different family law firms in both Delaware and North Carolina during my time in law school. While I was in law school, I also volunteered monthly as a Domestic Violence Advocate with the Domestic Violence Healthcare Project at Carolina’s Medical Center, where I assisted and counseled victims of domestic violence.
Today I practice family law exclusively in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. I also volunteer my time as a member of the Fighting For Women With Fashion committee which hosts an annual fashion show to benefit Safe Alliance, and assist victims of domestic violence right here in our community.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring local Charlotte restaurants with friends, reading, and going for walks with my dogs, Bella and Mabel.
My interest and commitment to the practice of family law stems from my own personal experience. I understand that the end of a marriage is not only devastating and stressful but also has ripple effects throughout other areas of life. My primary goal is to help my clients navigate through this difficult time in their lives with patience, understanding, and compassion.
