Amanda Ikerd Lynn has lived most of her life in Union County. While in high school and college, she worked part-time with the firm and continued to help during her years at college. She attended Gardner-Webb University and holds a B.S. in Business Administration.
Amanda joined the firm full-time as the head paralegal and client liaison in 2010 and is now the Firm Manager. She is an integral part of the firm and is the point of contact for clients and court personnel who contact our office.
Client Relations Manager
Kristin Patera has lived in Union County for most of her life and currently calls it home. A graduate of Forest Hills High School, she continued her education in the customer service industry following graduation. She spent eight years in customer service at several local businesses before joining our firm, holding supervisory positions the majority of the time.
As our Client Relations Manager, Kristin uses her relational skills and calming voice to help our clients through their stressful situations. She recognizes that our clients need a person who can relate to them and provide personal guidance in their times of need.
Amanda earned her Associate Degree in Paralegal Technology from Central Piedmont Community College before joining our firm as a paralegal. Applying the skills she learned in college, she assists our attorneys and works as a client liaison. Amanda’s goal is to get to know each client so that she can approach each case with personal, tailored care and understanding.
Amanda is a Charlotte native and has lived in Union County for the majority of her life. She likes to spend her spare time rock climbing with her husband.
Toni Riggins is our receptionist and the first friendly voice heard on the phone at Collins Family Law Group.
With over 20 years of experience, Toni has the unique ability to make anyone feel comfortable while going through what may be one of the most uncomfortable and difficult situations they will experience. She excels as a friendly, calming, and comforting point of contact for our firm.
Allison grew up in Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1993, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Psychology. Allison moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2004 where she began her career as a paralegal.
Allison’s 13 years of experience as a paralegal have provided her with exposure to many areas of law. She provides the firm with solid and reliable assistance and serves as a listening ear to clients. When she is away from the office, she enjoys being a devoted mother to her two
children and spoiling her rescued pets.
Melissa earned her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from King’s College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Strayer University.
Melissa began working in the legal field at the young age of 18 years old. She previously worked with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s office as well as the Jury Management Office in downtown Charlotte.
She is very passionate about working closely with clients and assisting them through difficult times. She enjoys building a rapport with everyone she works with and ensuring that she is always a friendly person to encounter.
In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family.
Teresa has lived in Union County all her life. She has an extensive background in business development and adminstration as she has owned several small businesses in Union County. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and enjoying the outdoors.
As Accounts Manager, Teresa brings a flair for client communications and an understanding attitude to develop and manage accounts and to maintain favorable and long lasting client relationsips.
Margaret Trimble grew up north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in an area very much like Union County. She moved to Monroe in 2008 to be near her children. Maggie, as we call her, earned a BA in Management and Finance from Chatham University in Pittsburgh and an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting from Butler County Community College. Most recently, she served as the Administrator/Finance Director at a large, local real estate office. Prior to that, she was the Finance Director at several not-for-profit agencies. Both areas place a high priority on client service and doing the right thing for the client and the company. She strives to bring that understanding to serve the clients at Collins Family Law Group.
Rebekah was born and raised in Union County, leaving only during her college years to pursue her Bachelor of Science Degree in Legal Office Administration in Florida. Upon receiving her degree, she returned to the Charlotte area where she served as a paralegal at a large real estate firm before taking the opportunity to pursue her real passion in family law and joining our team at Collins Family Law Group. Growing up as one of ten children provides Rebekah with unique and valuable experience in assisting families in all shapes and sizes through the divorce process. Rebekah’s objective as a paralegal is to assist each and every client with compassion, understanding and thorough detail.
Victoria Rowell Hoogland was born and raised in Union County, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and holds a B.S. in Business Administration. Prior to joining Collins Family Law Group, Victoria worked as a bank teller throughout college and as a paralegal for a large real estate law firm for five years. Victoria draws on her past work experiences when helping clients deal with the difficult situations that often arise in family law matters. In her spare time, she loves working on her family’s farm and spending time with her horses and cows.
Sandy is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and has lived in the Charlotte area all of her life. She has worked extensively in customer service for the last 35 years, including serving as a manager for a local restaurant for over 30 years. Sandy makes certain all of our offices are well-equipped and organized. She also helps organize many of our after-hour and non-profit events as well. When she is not at work, Sandy is caring for (and organizing) her family and loved ones.
