Tabitha Alcott

Attorney at Law

Tabitha Alcott attorney photo

Biography

Tabitha Alcott is an attorney for the Collins Family & Estate Law Group in the Columbia, South Carolina office. Tabitha graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law with a Juris Doctor and Children’s Law Certificate. She is admitted to practice in South Carolina. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Maryland Global Campus, which she received while on active duty with the United States Air Force. Tabitha’s dream was to become a lawyer and help parents and children who are navigating this process, and she finds it an honor to be able to fulfill that while being an advocate for her clients.

Tabitha is a dedicated attorney with a unique perspective shaped by both personal and professional commitment to support clients through challenging times. Raised by a single parent who navigated the very processes she now helps clients with, Tabitha understands the emotional and financial struggles that accompany major life transitions. This personal insight drives her passion for advocating on behalf of clients and providing them with the strength and legal expertise they need to fight for what they deserve.

Prior to joining Collins, Tabitha worked at a law firm that specifically practiced family law with offices across the United States, where she gained valuable experience in divorce, paternity, custody, visitation, separate support and maintenance, modification of custody/child support, registering/modifying out of state orders, and asset division. This background has allowed her to approach each case with an understanding of both the legal complexities and the emotional weights clients carry.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Tabitha served in the United States Air Force as a Mental Health Technician and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, where she learned and gained invaluable experience of offering support, building relationships, and helping individuals navigate some of the most difficult situations and emotions. These skills remain central to her legal practice today, where she is committed to providing compassionate, results-driven representation. Tabitha’s time in the United States Air Force gives helpful insight to the nuances involved with divorce while in the military and has assisted in ensuring that her current, and previous, military clients were properly represented. Having experienced firsthand the challenges individuals face during times of crisis, Tabitha is passionate about being a strong advocate for those going through tough situations, offering not only legal advice but assurance that they are not alone. Whether navigating the courtroom or negotiating settlements, she is committed to fighting for what clients truly deserve with the same dedication she would give to her family.

  • University of South Carolina School of Law – Juris Doctor
  • University of Maryland Global Campus – Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a Minor in Psychology
  • Community College of the Air Force – Associate Degree in Mental Health Services

When working with my clients, I regularly think, “If I was going through this process as the client, how would I want my attorney to handle this situation, this conversation, or this response.” I want to always ensure that I am giving compassion, honesty, and dedication to my clients and fully advocating and arguing for their best interest, as I would want myself, family, or friends to receive if they were being represented.

Tabitha fills her cup by spending time with family and friends, traveling, and immersing herself in a good TV show. Being from Florida, she enjoys traveling to the coast, relaxing by the pool, or enjoying the sun and sand at the beach.

Steady judgment. Enduring counsel.
