Some of the daily tasks include greeting and interacting with clients, managing documents, inventory, court filing, scheduling, payment processing, and assisting attorneys with various projects.

Professional Experience

Kara has diverse administrative and department coordination experience which includes the music industry, hospital network industry, entrepreneur world, and talent acquisition. She has supported C-Suite Level Executives and their teams at corporations such as Virgin Records, Disney Music Group, and ADP. In her 8 years at Disney, she had the honor of learning the “ins and outs” of all departments, including working close with the legal team. Kara is a process and solution oriented individual who prides herself in finding the growth and lessons in adverse situations. She is passionate about creating a top notch client and colleague experience. Kara has always held an interest in law and is excited to support Collins Family & Elder Law.

Background

Kara is a California native. She grew up in a small town outside of Santa Barbara where the beach meets the mountains and the average temperature (year-round) is 65-70 degrees! She also spent a small portion of her childhood living in New York. As a young adult, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the music industry. After living in the “hustle and bustle” of Los Angeles for many years she moved to North Carolina in 2012 where she directed her focus on being a mom to her two children and running the household.

Personal & Professional Activities

As a breast cancer survivor, Kara is an avid supporter of breast cancer prevention studies, the science behind how cancer develops, and modalities that promote a healthy mind, body, and spirit. She is a certified Women’s Wellness Mentor and currently studying Trauma Informed Mentorship where she is learning EFT Tapping, hypnosis, neurolinguistics, and neuroplasticity. She loves physical activites and some of her favorites are Pilates, dancing, and strength training. Kara is an avid reader about anything pertaining to human behaviors, self-growth, and emotional intelligence. She’s a lover of sports and you’ll often find her with her children at hockey and football games. You’ll also find her in the kitchen (a lot), exploring new recipes as much as possible. She loves traveling to the mountains, the beach and everywhere in between. Her most favorite thing to do is spending time with her two children doing just about anything!

Personal Philosophy

Kara believes that possessing a mindset of acceptance, gratitude, and grace are what propels her forward in life.

One of Kara’s favorite quotes is by Eckhart Tolle:

“Life isn’t as serious as the mind makes it out to be. Acceptance looks like a passive state, but in reality it brings something entirely new into this world.”
