Bio
Courtney Lockerman joined Collins Family & Elder Law Group in 2024 and is currently based in the Dilworth office located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Courtney was born and raised in Charlotte, and she graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Accounting in 2011. After graduation, Courtney worked as a financial accountant for Wyndham Capital Mortgage. While she enjoyed this professional role for more than five years, Courtney ultimately decided to pursue a legal career – something she had considered since high school. Courtney graduated from Elon University School of Law in 2020 and became a member of the North Carolina and South Carolina Bars shortly thereafter. Given her prior experience working for a mortgage lender, Courtney’s legal practice began in the areas of commercial and residential real estate. Eager to serve clients in all areas of asset management, Courtney opted to shift her legal focus and dedicate her practice to estate planning and estate administration.
Experience
Courtney has worked with many high-net-worth clients in the greater Charlotte area. She is well versed in asset management and legal avenues by which to avoid the prolonged probate process that comes with estate administration. Courtney believes that estate planning is for everyone, and she represents clients at all stages of life – whether you are just starting a family, settled in a longtime career, approaching retirement age, or are many years into retirement, she can provide an estate plan suitable for your current and future needs.

"Ms. Collins was very helpful during my custody hearing. It was not about the money for her; instead, it was about doing what was right for my child and me."
She was fair, open, and honest. She informed me of my rights as well as the rights of my ex-husband. She was not out for blood, but just out for what my child and I were entitled to.
